Bicarb System

The Maurten Bicarb System is an advanced sports fuel used by athletes during high-intensity exercise — where the boundaries of effort and power start to limit performance. The Bicarb System contains a mixing bowl, the hydrogel component, the bicarbonate component, and access to the Bicarb Digital System.

The Maurten Bicarb System has different serving sizes — 12, 15, 19, 22 and 25. It's not one-size-fits-all. The right serving is determined by assessing athlete weight and bicarbonate experience. In general, the higher the weight, the bigger the serving size. But without experience more doesn’t necessarily mean better — you need to get used to it.

Preparation is key — and getting bicarbonate right requires forward thinking. The optimal timeframe for a Bicarb System dose is 1–2 hours after a meal, such as breakfast, and 1.5–2 hours before starting high-intensity training or competition. Each Maurten Bicarb System includes a QR code to unlock the Bicarb Digital System — created by in-house nutritional scientists to make it intuitive to plan, prepare, and execute a bicarb session or race.
